That number will only grow! Status updates via Twitter have become a regular part of my day. In fact, to call it a “part” is almost giving it too much weight. Posting my status from my mobile device has become such a habit that it is almost seamless.

What does this mean for churches?

• Twitter and similar status updating tools can be used to communicate instantly to your community
• Status updates can help you keep tabs on members of your small groups
• In Twitter’s case, where “status” is taken less literally and entire conversations can occur, a new space for open communication exists between a diverse group of people.
